With four years of resale under our belts, we've come across literally tons of stuff that we know could be helpful to someone -- but wouldn't sell or be used at our shop. Part of our mission is to change how people think about Reuse -- and another part is to help connect people with useful resources.

Our motive is environmental: we want to help reduce demand for unnecessary new stuff when there's perfectly good stuff already available to us.  This is environmental in two ways: not making new stuff allows limited resources to go to more important matters (like, drinking water instead of industrial processing), and not throwing away good used stuff allows us to stop trashing the planet... all we need to do, then, is connect the dots between the stuff we have and the folks who need it.

In 2014, we created a 'Donating for Impact' online resource for our community so that we could help people figure this out without having to keep answering the same questions. We've since determined that if we invite organizations to opt into this list (and let people decide where to donate), we'll have a stronger resource for everyone. Even better, having a way to proactively communicate when channeling the wrong-for-us stuff to the right places would allow us to have greater impact through the organization of events and the sharing of best practices.

When you sign up, you'll have the opportunity to specify what you're interested in receiving, include some notes about condition, etc., and tell us a little bit about what you'll be able to do with these materials. Our intention is to specifically provide support for social enterprises* through strategic donations of secondhand stuff.

Thanks for being part of the solution!
